Description
Escape the ordinary and embrace the authentic charm of Old Byre, a traditional farm cottage with 3 bedrooms, nestled amidst the rolling hills of a 100-acre working farm on the Isle of Wight. Immerse yourself in breathtaking countryside views, connect with friendly farm animals, and discover endless outdoor adventures right outside your door. Where rustic charm meets modern comfort, Old Byre offers the perfect escape for families and friends seeking a rural retreat, and is pet-friendly (1 dog welcome upon request).
Step inside this beautifully converted barn to see the impressive exposed beams and original stonework, the perfect setting for cosy afternoons curled up with a book. After a busy day exploring the island, retreat to one of three tranquil bedrooms. The ground-floor king-size room boasts a luxurious en-suite with a large shower, while the first-floor king-size bedroom features a balcony with breathtaking countryside vistas and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. A third twin room caters to additional guests, complete with an en-suite bathroom.
Out through the French doors to the terrace, Old Byre's breathtaking views from your private patio offer a moment of pure serenity - breathe in the crisp country air while you sip your morning coffee or savour a glass of wine as evening descends and the sky transforms into twilight magic.
Dine alfresco under the starlight sky with the BBQ sizzling, surrounded by loved ones and the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside. Prepare delicious meals inside too, in the fully equipped kitchen featuring sleek appliances and ample workspace, ready to gather around the rustic dining table for 6.
Simply ask the owners for a chance to explore the working farm and meet the gentle sheep and inquisitive horses grazing in the fields. Venture beyond the farm cottage and countryside and embrace the seaside with the sandy beaches of Ryde just a short drive away (2 miles), inviting you to build sandcastles and paddle in the sea, or simply soak up the warm sunshine.
For seafarers, the crystal-clear waters offer exhilarating sailing adventures or for casting a fishing line. While those on land can try their hand at Crabbing off the Isle of Wight shores. Equestrians can saddle up at Trotters Riding School & Livery Yard, a 3-minute drive from Old Byre.
Venture further to Seaview, a picturesque village nestled atop a dramatic headland just 3 miles away. Wander through quaint streets adorned with colourful cottages, indulge in afternoon tea with breath-taking sea views, or embark on coastal walks that unveil hidden coves and panoramic vistas.
Cycle along scenic country lanes, hop on a bus to charming villages or explore the coastline on foot via scenic coastal paths. Visit iconic landmarks like Osborne House and The Needles, immersing yourself in the island's rich history and culture.

The location was perfect. Exactly the countryside escape that we were after. The place was very clean and smelled just so fresh. The hosts were lovely. It was also amazing to be able to say hello to all the farm animals.

The cottage was nice, cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were there with our daughter (not yet two) who really enjoyed seeing all the animals.
